Tick, Tick, Boom!
NOTE: This production of tick, tick...BOOM! is casting actors 17+ due to content of the show. There will be some choreography for the ensemble roles! This is a part of the director's vision, to emphasize the anxiety and pressure Jonathan feels throughout the show in a visual way.
Synopsis:
This intimate, autobiographical pop/rock musical from the creator of Rent tells the story of Jon, a struggling composer whose life seems to be going nowhere. About to turn 30 and still waiting tables for a living, Jon is desperately scared that he may never “make it” on Broadway. The pressure to break out or give up only grows as Jon’s girlfriend, Susan, announces that she wants to get married and move out of the city, and his best friend, Michael, quits acting and finds huge financial success as a Madison Avenue corporate executive. Jon’s new musical SUPERBIA has a great workshop but no prospects, and as time ticks by Jon wonders if maybe his friends are right, and it’s time to throw in the towel. Created by Jonathan Larson as a deeply personal peek into the life of an artist, Tick, Tick... Boom! follows one man’s journey to define success on his own terms.

FULL REHEARSAL SCHEDULE:
TBD (will be finalized prior to auditions). We do not have our own space that we rent or own, so we work with other venues and rehearsal spaces to house us for rehearsals and performances. This sometimes means that we can be stuck in a holding pattern while they get back to us about availability. We apologize for the inconvenience; the second that the schedule is final, it will be attached here and a post will be made!

WHAT TO PREPAPARE:
- 30-60 second monologue, comedic or dramatic
- 16-32 bars of a song in the style of the show that demonstrates range!
VIDEO auditions will be accepted, but must be submitted by 11:59pm on Sunday, September 6th, and all auditionees must be available for in-person callbacks on September 8th.
